Access your Desktop and Applications Remotely with X2Go – Ubuntu /Linux Mint
In this tutorial, we are going to see how to install X2Go, an open source remote desktop solution for Linux platforms. The X2Go server must be installed on Ubuntu/Linux Mint or any other Linux-based platform; the client can be installed on any other platform (Linux, Windows, or Mac OS X).
You can install X2Go on the following Ubuntu/Linux Mint distros:
- Ubuntu 15.04/14.10/14.04
- Linux Mint 17.2 or older
X2GoServer Setup
For easier installation, you can install X2Go from PPA using these commands:
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:x2go/stable
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install software-properties-common
sudo apt-get install x2goserver x2goserver-xsession x2goserver-printing
Install now the client on any other computer running Ubuntu/Linux Mint using this command:
sudo apt-get -y install x2goclient
You can then start X2Go client from Unity Dash and enter your connection details to connect to the other computer:
